Who I Am

I am one of God’s sheep who’s moving on to different pastures. The journey promises to be an interesting one.

I have been a homeschooling mom way back in the 80’s when it wasn’t the popular thing to do. I am now a grandmother to my home schooled grandchildren. I am the wife to a pastor who is also moving on to different pastures.

I think I may have some insight into Sarah’s reaction to Abraham when he gave her the news of the move. You see Sarah had her life altogether after all she was over 50. She had a good job with benefits. A beautiful tent and her husband had a good ministry. She had made good friends over the years and had already decided on the retirement home and picked out her burial plot.

She cried out to God this isn’t fair, I just planted new tulips in the flowerbed and I won’t be able to see them come up. We will never be able to sell the tent is this market. What about Abraham, God do you know what the job market is like?

Maybe God spoke to Sarah’s heart with scripture as he did mine. ” ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not hurt you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ ” Jer. 29:11

  1. Hey Ewe Patty,
Sounds like you are having an enjoyable
summer with the berries and quiet times
and visiting the Amish store etc. The
area where you are living is really
beautiful! It would be great if we could
come to visit some time….when and if
Gas prices go down that is!
Baths are great when you are sore and tired..Showers are for when you are dirty…
if the person can stand and wash themself..then they can take a shower…..Isaac is 4 and now prefers showers…but it is a personal preference…I guess! So my vote goes with whatever makes the person happy! If you are dirty and a bath relaxes you..go with the bath..if you are dirty and want to get in and out..go for the shower! Don’t you love a person with a die hard anwswer to life’s questions?
We have been busy too…just busy…can’t really say anything in particular..other than VBS, getting ready for a mission trip to Mobile, this and that and ten other things similar.
Kayce went to Children’s Camp last week with Sarah for her first children’s church camp. Sarah adopted a pet spider who she quickly named Carl. One of the other counselor’s in their dorm entertained everyone with a whoopee cushion. Such fun!
Keep in touch….I don’t have a blog site…reckon I ought to start one?
love you guys…I was sorry to hear about that murder…that is scary…I had heard about it..but really didn’t make the connection when I read about it being right there on your old street!
We had a bad thing happen at our church with our friend’s grand daughter being in the house when her step father killed the step sister…So AWFUL! Lyndsie is home with her biological daddy now though. Thank goodness!
    God Bless!
susan < ps did Terry start his new job? How did it go? Hope he likes it!
